Japan 2003 Pt 1: Tsukiji Fish Market
After SNL passed, I was bummed. (Oh Non-Eyes, if you haven’t not-read that laborious, mewling tale then read here!)
Since my wife and I both hated LA, we decided to geographically escape from our problems and go to Japan.
Actually, it went like this: I watched Spectreman in the 1970s and began fetishizing the Japanese, then in the 90s Amanda saw Yayoi Kusama’s pumpkin sculpture in the NY Times art section, then I got passed on by SNL and we were bummed, then we saw Lost In Translation and decided to go.
One of my favorite things about this vid is that I correct her pronounciation of “Tsukiji” but I am incorrect. And I make a lot of stupid comments and noises. But Amanda is cute.
